The Wonderful thing about Tiggers

The wonderful thing about tiggers

Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber;
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I'm the only one!

I'm not trying to claim that the lyrical masterpiece above is mine, clearly it is the work of Disney.  I was just using this as an introduction to telling you that I went to work as Tigger today.

Obviously this was unintentional, I didn't get up this morning and by mistake (or because it is past washing day and I'm out of clean clothes) put on a Tigger outfit:

Admittedly I did wear black and orange but I was dressed reasonably appropriately for work.  It was more that I went to work mentally as Tigger.  This is not necessarily something I would recommend.

As some of you might know I have been having a bit of a manic phase and while it hasn't been at all bad I have been a bit hyperactive.  Today an extra bit of manic was added to the pile taking me from hyper into a new zone.  I think many would describe this as irritating.

For those of us who have grown up with Tigger you will understand, he is lovely for us to watch but a source of destruction and frustration to his friends.  Tigger has lots of energy and the greatest self confidence.  He regularly over-estimates his abilities and will claim to be able to do anything that is required although generally he doesn't quite manage it.  Tigger generally causes chaos and trouble where ever he goes.  In fact I would say that Tiger is manic, his personality fits my picture of manic, he never thinks of the consequences of his actions and does whatever takes his fancy.

So today I went to work as Tigger, imagine how this went.  Previously in Tigger moments I have been asked seriously what I've been taking.  Many people have assumed / decided that I must be taking speed.  No need, I just have a Tigger in my brain.  I admit I got loads done but I also bounced around work and randomly chatted to people about rubbish.  I had a great day.

One of my friends having been briefed at some stage in the past pointed out to me that I seemed a bit over the top.  This is a coping tactic because sometimes I don't realise that I'm manic, I'm still getting used to the idea that feeling great isn't always a good thing.  I know now that I need to take care of myself and not let the mania carry me away or who knows where I will end up.

Around 3 o'clock I think I decided to do the Whoop-de-Dooper, Loop-de-Looper,Ali-Ooper Bounce!  For those too mature to know what this is I have found an example:

Now trying to chill out and relax to have a nights sleep, it's not really working.  I'm resisting the urge to go out dancing.  I know it all sounds good and mania does feel great but there are some downsides, the opposite of Tigger is Eeyore and having an Eeyore day or 6 months isn't fun.  And then there are the days when mania takes the rage route, when Tigger goes bad:

Hopefully your co-workers love their "Tigger".
Try and kick back with a nice hot camamille (sp) tea and put your feet up.

Wow. I don't think I'll ever look at Tigger (one of my preferred Disney characters) the same way again. o_O"

I just bought Star a stuffed Eeyore. Sasha destroyed her stuffed dog so we looked on ebay and found a giant eeyore for next to nothing. Lucky puppy!

I'm still Tiggerey, prefer not to have Eeyore days but he is cute!
